Account storage and mailbox allocations

What does the storage meter show?
The Subscription meter shows mailbox allocations against plan capacity, not measured stored-message bytes. For example, a 12 GB account assigning 2 GB to each of two mailboxes has allocated 4 GB even if its messages use much less.
Change allocations
- On a paid subscription, expand Allocate account storage to mailboxes.
- Enter the requested mailbox allocation in MB and save. Leave capacity for the other mailboxes.
- Wait for the mail server acknowledgement; the operation can be pending before the new allocation is confirmed.
- If the operation fails and offers Retry, use it instead of submitting conflicting requests.
When reducing storage
A mailbox cannot be reduced below its stored mail. Reduction needs valid live usage from the mail server; if that measurement is unavailable, the request stops safely. Pending increases may reserve the larger allocation to prevent concurrent requests from exceeding account capacity.
